Defective washing machine in a home
for the elderly and disabled

Initial situation

The residence is spread out on a campus and houses elderly and people with disabilities. The campus includes a main house where meals are served, groups can meet, and events can be held. Residents have employment programs that take place throughout the campus. They grow food on their farm, such as meat, milk, vegetables, grains, etc., and make handmade items such as soaps, various things made of wood, or textiles that they sell in the store. They also cook and have a house for laundry. Finally, there are smaller houses with apartments where everyone is housed.

Incident and first reaction

Suddenly, a resident in the laundry room screams, and the caregiver nearby runs to her. The resident is lying on the floor with a frightened expression on her face and water is running out of the washing machine. After a short time, the caregiver realises that the resident is fine, but the washing machine obviously needs help.

Notification

Using her cell phone, she opens a new case for the washing machine at Pulpius. She provides the exact location and everything she observed. Then she sends a notification to the janitorial team. The team leader receives the case and takes it over. He delegates it to a team member and involves an external service provider to solve the case technically. Incident management
